Machfive 3 (Windows) Sidebar browser irritation

Post by beejeh »

Hi,

Anybody else had the problems with the default folder being set to A: (floppy drive on my system - Yes ancient I know !) in Windows 7?

This means that everytime the browse button is clicked at the top right of the Parts List window, Machfive whinges that no floppy disk is in the drive and I have to click cancel about ten times to skip.

My main complaint is that Machfive 3 does not remember the current folder between sessions so I have to go through this every time I start the Machfive 3 standalone.

No problems when running on Mac OSX, but I don't always want to use it there.

:shake:
Regards.

Machfive 3.0.3, PC user;
Sequencer=Sonar Producer X1 expanded. Using ASIO drivers.

O/S=Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. CPU=Intel Q6600 Quad core 2.4GHz, Mobo=ASUS P5K Premium WIFI AP (Black Pearl), Graphics=GeForce 8800GTX, RAM=8 GByte, Music H/W=Motu 828mkII & MTP/AV + Creative Audigy 2 ZS Pro Platinum

Also Macbook Pro OSX 10.6.7 user with Logic 9.

A workaround for this problem if you don't need the Floppy drive is to disable it in Windows Device Manager, and I have now done this.

Really, I hate how it defaults back to the whole C drive. It should certainly remember what directory you last selected before exiting. I don't have this issue on the other MOTU/UVI sample browsers so it seems to be a bug.

I've noticed this too. Was gonna mention it elsewhere before I came across this post.

So it's only a Windows thing huh?? :shake:
