Liquid Mix and 64 Bit
I've yet to make the jump to 64 bit in any of the software that I use. One thing that really bothers me, is the thought my beloved Liquid Mix won't be compatible. I know there is bridge applications but I've read they only work for single instances. I use LM for almost half of my plug ins on dense tracks.
Does anyone want to make my night and tell me there is a workaround or DIY driver that will enable me to use Liquid Mix when I get DP8?
Thanks!

I'd like to know that too. Still, I believe DP 8 can be run in both 32 and 64 bit...

I think the question will be if Liquidmix drivers will need to be updated to work in DP8.
I don't know, I sold mine in Dec.
but I wonder how many legacy products such as this might have issues as all of these new updates start to hit the streets with DP8(coaco)the move towards Mountain Lion in the Fall etc.....

Re: Liquid Mix and 64 Bit
Liquid Mix is a discontinued product. I really doubt Focusrite is going to
update the product or its drivers.

Mine is sitting in a shelf but your post made me think I could hook it to a slave machine with an older OS and configure a Vrack with some compressors and use them as outboard, forgetting about automation, do some latency measurement, stick expert sleepers latency fixer and it would still be usable. They are being sold for nothing so this feels like a better idea even if it only gets used once every second month.

Re: Liquid Mix and 64 Bit
The demise of Liquid Mix was baked into the product from the beginning.
Two big problems - it was prone to causing crackles and pops in the audio,
due to it hogging the Firewire bus, and every update of it brought a
new set of bugs. And, the generic GUI for every emulation was very annoying,
not only because you couldn't really relate it to the gear being emulated,
but also because frankly the knobs and controls didn't work intuitively.
I sold mine for two hundred bucks and was lucky to get that. I don't miss
the LM.

I never really had any of the problems you describe, and I still have mine but I found that I just gradually stopped using it in favor of my UAD-2.

Re: Liquid Mix and 64 Bit
Still using LM daily on every project here. Because it is hardware based, I try to lean towards my (many) software comps, but some LM emulations keep rising to the top in different situations. When it takes a dirt nap, it will be sorely missed 'round here.

Re: Liquid Mix and 64 Bit
I got my LM16 to work in DP8 (as a VST) using jBridge.
Seems to be working OK.
Seems to be working OK.

…string theory says that all subatomic particles of the universe are nothing but musical notes. A, B-flat, C-sharp, correspond to electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and what have you. Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.

Small answer: yes.Radiogal wrote:So the big question is: Does LM working in Mountain Lion (with JBridge)?Anyone?
Bigger answer:
Yes, but I haven't been using it since I tested it (I only use LM for mixing, and I am not mixing right now) so I can't say I have tested it very much.

Re: Liquid Mix and 64 Bit
I was searching for this, my question was if the Liquid Mix works in Mountain Lion (in 32 bit) but that seems to work for you?
