It's been on my list for years and i'm hoping DP5 will go there.

Splicing in room tone is the only way to do what you ask (without a PITA) but only if you have all mono or stereo tracks. And yes it's still not as good as shuffle mode in PT.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Thanks for the confirmation Fibes. I will keep my fingers crossed.

And I will try tech support again.... after NAAM. Maybe if the two of us :D who find this a problem complain loudly enough it will get added.

BTW - the brief glimpse of Slip and Slide in the video clip from a previous post looks kinda cool. Can't wait to check that out.

Thanks again for all the responses,

to the op -basically you have snipped the space out and its too much?

so at this point you have split across all 3 tracks in your example.

would the keystroke select from "here" to end help?

then nudge back everything after? ( or move command ?) - but still u are for ever selecting things...

i found DP is a paradigm shift - cant do some things that are simple in another program..

the wiper and insertion point occasionally not as intuitive as you would like.

simply move clip to wiper is a chore! copy TC - select clip - open move window - select mode - click on field - paste..

but then if you realise that and just grab a clip and drag its start time in the mini info then u realise you dont actually need the wiper as much as u think u did.

Out of topic but there is "move cursor to wiper bar" key command

Select an event with the I tool for it to be a time selection
Copy the event or cut it
Hit your key shortcut for the "move cursor to wiper bar"function
hit paste.

if you cut the event instead of copying, you need to reselect the track before hitting the cursor command.

Event should re-appear at the Wiper location.

There are so much undocumented functions in DP that I feel like I'm not using more than 20% of its actual power.

I haven't experimented much with the slip or slide tools, but would they be useful in this situation?
