828mkii Firewire Audio Cutting Out

Hi guys.

I have an 828mkii Firewire on a Windows 7 computer with the latest drivers and firmware. When I play audio through Ableton Live 8 my audio is fine. If I use the MOTU as the default playback device for Windows (set up as MOTU Main Out 1-2) the audio plays, but is distorted.

The best way that I can describe what it sounds like is to compare it to a guitar amp with a vibrato effect. The audio cuts out every half second or so the entire time that audio is playing. This goes for Foobar, which is my default player, online audio through IE8 or Google Chrome, and Windows System Sounds.

P.S - When I first set up the MOTU it worked fine. Then my MIDI was not working and I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and put the device back to factory settings. This is when the problem started.

Nevermind everyone. It was a sample-rate issue. Turned it from 2048 to 1042 and it solved the problem.
