UltraLite-mk3: Direct Box suggested?

Post by thumdar »

Simple question: When recording bass guitar, would it be best to use a direct box between the bass and the UltraLite-mk3?

Or, does the UltraLite-mk3 have enough juice in its preamp to deliver a fat enough signal to my DAW?

I've just finished recording a song without using a DI and the bass feels washed out. After reading a bit online, it seems most people suggest using a DI.

Thanks Stephen.

I just got a schweeeet deal on a dbx DB12 active direct box ~ only $67 brand new! Now I just have to create some impressive enough tracks so that you'll want to produce them!
