Volume pedal vs. MachFive3

Post by farmertomato »

I'm just starting with M53, and adding it to some pre-existing layers. When I use my volume pedal, MachFive3 is the only one that doesn't respond. Stumbling through the docs led me into all sorts of interesting thing, but not simple volume control. I'm coming from Mainstage with two keyboard controllers, sending cc#11. Is it looking for cc#7? If so, where in MachFive3 do I change that? Did I misplace a "getting started" document?

Strange-- someone posted a reply to this, but it's no longer here. Anyway, I am still unable to control my program volume with my volume pedal sending CC#11. It appears to be set up right in the modulation section, but moving the pedal has no effect. When I crack into the manual, it heads off into arcane stuff that I don't need right now, but fails to answer the absolute simplest of questions--not the sign of a good manual.

Typical M5 part responds to CC7(volume), CC10(pan) and CC11(expression)

You can check the assignments by right clicking the part volume and pan slider and checking the mod matrix of the part volume by clicking the volume slider

Maybe a wrong assignment in Mainstage in your case.
Do you see M5 part blink when you send CC ?

M53 Part shows MIDI activity for notes and mod, but not for pitch bend and not for C#11 from foot pedal.

If I change my pedal's controller output tp CC#7 Mach5 responds properly, but other instruments' volume is also affected. In M53, I select master volume and pop up MIDI Learn, move the pedal and it accepts it. But the pedal then does not control the volume. Very maddening.
