M5 won't play from kybd

Just installed M5, tutorial file works ok, I can get sounds to play from my keyboard.

Opened a new file, M5 won't play from kybd. All settings look the same. Nothing's muted, faders/levels ok. MIDI track is rec-enabled, soundbank and preset is selected just like tutorial file. Output assignment for MIDI track
and M5 are correct. I hear sounds when I click on the kybd in M5 display. I can record and play back MIDI notes.

I observe that the MIDI activity light is not responding in this new file. Works in the tutorial file. My MIDI interface is showing activity as present/ok.

Only difference I can see between these 2 files is that the tutorial is on my music apps drive, and the new file is on a separate drive for working files. I saved the tutorial file "save as" a DP file (was originally an smf). But I don't think that that's the problem.

Any ideas?

Sort of a 'duh' answer, but is record enabled on you MIDI track?

Check your MIDI pass thru settings. Should be set for "auto channelize". Let me know if this helps.
