828 mk3 syncing w/ spdif and adat
So, I just got a 828 MK3, and I want to hook up my Aphex 207d through the spdif, and a Behringer ADA8000 into the ADAT "A" port. I was wondering how I should handle the master/slave setup, and do I need to hook up the word clock input/outputs, if so, from which to which. I know that the Aphex cannot act as a master, but the 828 and ADA8000. I am hoping that someone has used all three units, but any help is appreciated,as I am getting some popping out of the ADA8000 channels. Thanks
Re: 828 mk3 syncing w/ spdif and adat
I have 16 channels of ADAT between a 2048 MkII and a 828 Mk3, using the 828 as the master with the two connected by Wordclock. I tried using ADAT to sync, but it was a bit flaky and I got a square wave at -80db at the ADAT inputs of the 828.

So, I should use the 828 as master synched with the Behringer ADA8000 connected via wordclock right? But what about the Aphex 207d, I only have one wordclock out on the 828, will is synch through the spdif cable?bayswater wrote:I have 16 channels of ADAT between a 2048 MkII and a 828 Mk3, using the 828 as the master with the two connected by Wordclock. As long as the Aphex has a SPDIF IN thru which it cab receive clock from the 828. If not, you can split the Clock and send to both the Behringer and Aphex. You'll need two BNC cables and a BNC "T" connector. You may want to buy a terminator, too. Search the web or check your products documentation for more on WC Termination.
