How I do love a good cross burning and marshmallow roast.

But Frank, you definitely gotta polish up on your lying chops. It's shameful considering how many dishonest mentors we have to learn from in our daily lives.

"You're doing a heck of a job, Brownie!"

nuff said.

This is all well and good, but

Frank and his "pegged legged" maroons will be showing up at your house for an ass kicking contest. Just too, too funny even to think about. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D    Like a MOTU/ Capitol One Porduction "What's on ye harddrive, arg?"

Sounds like Frank ripped off the teacher as well. After all, the teacher may have illegally copied the disk and freely given away his auth code to all the students- but Frankie-boy absconded with the manual and moved to Baltimore. Tsk, tsk.

Pegged legged to the bone.... arg!!

frankbimples wrote:okay....so. yeah. legit or not(and i am not saying it isn't), i still wanted to learn the software. i thought i heard there was a pdf manual. i guess i was mistaken. but you guys seriously need to calm down. i have spent countless dollars on software. yeah, i have a non-legit copy of microsoft word and toast titanium. i guess that makes me a poor art school student as well as a low life swashbuckler. i can't support myself to enough of a point where i can buy every 'essential' application. i will say however, the music programs that i use, i purchased legally(excluding dp4 which was given to me). ableton live 4, max msp and even a motu traveler(i know, not software). you guys have pigeon-holed me as something i'm not. ah well, the story of my life it seems. anyhow, sorry for the mishap.
Frank, you're telling us that you can afford a Mac, a required hardware interfaces, but you CAN'T afford the software? Come on man.

"Aaaarrrrrrrrrrr... perhaps me bloomin' parrot ate me manual? Shiver me timbers."

You admit on the board to stealing Toast, etc? That's not cool and puts this board in a bad light. I'm going to have to delete his account people. I don't mind if he comes back, but this way his peg-legged buddies won't be able to contact him via private message etc. and start "sharing" software.

Here we kids were havin' all that fun teasin' and pickin' on Frankie, and dad bans the naughty kid from playing in our house.

Man, we never get to have fun no more.

…string theory says that all subatomic particles of the universe are nothing but musical notes. A, B-flat, C-sharp, correspond to electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and what have you. Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.

Then you didn't buy DP, you just got the disk (if that!).

MOTU allow license transfers, but the person selling it has to organise it.

If someone is selling DP without the manual, its gotta be a steal, in every sense of the word.

My advice? Don't buy DP on ebay.

Then a fool be ye, without a manual ye have not a rudder to guide yeself thru these trecherous DP waters.
And beware the the Dread Pirate Digi. For he could steer ye on to the course of the damned..... or at worst the course of fools who believe that PT has anything better to offer than name recognition...

When some asswipe asks if I have Pro Tools in my studio, I say YES...
I only use Professional Tools... I just abbreviate it as DP.

And an afterthought...

Read the Pirate Manual, my friend. It says on page 254 to use a compressor on the Bird followed by Soundsoap on the shoulder. A bird in the hand is worth #2 on the shoulder.

I bought my copy of DP from a nice shop called the Jolly Roger. The chap said the PDF manual would cost 20 pieces of eight. Perhaps frankie would like to call him? Oops, he doesn't have a phone...

Believe it or not, there is a shop that advertises 'PC-CD roms' of this name not a million miles from me. The ultimate act of blatancy!

It's a shame I didn't read this until now. I would have sold Frankie my copy of the MOTU manual. I would even have thrown in my license # and original disks, AND tranferred the license.

Of course I would have asked for $1500 and used the proceeds to buy a new copy and something else fun.
