Double check the file name, as stupid as this sounds,
It should be filename.aif, not "filename.aif.1" or anything else. Make sure there are no quote marks, no hyphens, slashes, percent signs or any other character except a letter or number in the name.
If all is well there, I asume the type and creator code is messed up. I would open them in another audio editing program, and "save as" with a new name.
The try importing them into DP again. This will force a different creator code at least, and depending on the app, maybe a type code as well.
Hope it helps,
Jeff
cannot import .aif !!!!

The files may be corrupted OR DP exported them as something else.
My advice...
1. Burn all aifs to CD.
2. Import from CD back to DP.
3. Resave the new imported files in native format and aif.
Done.
