How to restore download folder alias in dock?

Hi I was dl'ing some rar files and inadvertently dragged my dl folder
( in dock) into unrarx & the folder went " poof"
Checked trash, not there
Looked in finder dl folder is there but how do I make icon for dock?
Drummer jokes welcome

You locate the Downloads folder and drag it to the dock

It's located at Users->Your Username->Downloads

I tried that, it does not "stick" to dock

Folders and files have to go to the far right hand side of the dock (there's a vertical dividing line between the area for files and the area where applications will stick).

I keep my dock vertical,so it took me a second to figure out.
