Using automation feature of Studio One

I can use the automation feature of studio one with my other plugins. What it is? If I touch a knob or fader in the plugin it usually appears in a little box in my studio one sequencer and I can directly automate it.
But here I must assign it to MIDI cc and then I must choose it from a big list which is not even named with the fader or knob name. It would be great if it is also possible in MachFive!

Yep, Machfive doesn't intergrate well with Studio ONE just yet...

What about in Logic pro X? I figured out assignments but I cant get it to record the automation

Please tell me its possible, automation means is everything to me.
