Ultralite mk3 automatic power option ?

Hi,

in the setup menu of my new Ultralite mk3 hybrid (accessible from the main green LCD panel, not from the PC), I found a "automatic power enable: on/off" item... This option is not discussed in the manual or anywhere on the web, and I wonder if someone has an idea of its use ?

I'm afraid to test it, because i heard a lot of issues concerning firewire and power problems...

Maybe, does it switch on automaticaly the box when the power supply is alimented, without having to push the power button ?

Never knew about that setting. I haven't tried it yet, but I suspect that (when enabled), the MOTU automatically powers up when you turn the computer on. Normally, when the MOTU is drawing power via Firewire, it doesn't power up when you turn on the computer. You need to push the Volume knob. With this setting, the MOTU will likely power up as soon as it starts receiving power over Firewire.

This setting maybe has no effect if you're not using Firewire.

this option is not accessible from the sofware side (on the PC) but only directly on the device : with the knobs, go in the setup menu and browse the different pages, you will find it. Note that my MK3 hybrid has firmware 1.03 .

hello bibbin my motu firmware is 1.02 and I can´t find in the list of downloads the correct update of the hardware... can you tell me the title of the download (i have w7 64 bits... thanks)

I am sorry, I did not download anything : I bought the device with the firmware 1.03 already installed. I have no idea how to update it, because I found no firmware file for the mk3 hybrid on the MOTU website... If you do, I'll be interested
