Saving result of IRCAM Stretch as audio file
I have an audio sample loaded in the IRCAM Stretch oscillator. I have adjusted the parameters so the sample is slowed down. The time shifting is remarkable, btw. Now I want to save the edited sample audio, but I don't understand how. I tried the little Save icon Save Sample As…, but the resulting .wav file is the same as the original audio file, not the slowed down version. I need a hint, please.

Either edit the original wave down to your isolated sample(s) or record the output and reimport it into M5.

Ok, I recorded the output of M5 to a DP audio track. That works, and getting the slowed down sample into DP was my goal.
I think you read me, but to ask a different way: can I destructively modify the sample data in an IRCAM Stretch osc?
Sorry, I don't understand the above.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:Either edit the original wave down to your isolated sample(s)...

I'm saying you can isolate the section of the sound you want tobuse and delete everything else. Maybe I misunderstood your request, but I thought you didn't want to keep the entire original.

Re: Saving result of IRCAM Stretch as audio file
Ok, now I understand you about isolating and deleting what I don't want. From my two minute sample, I deleted all but the few seconds I wanted to keep. Then I clicked the Save icon in the IRCAM Stretch osc and chose Save Sample As... The resulting .wav file is predictably just the short portion I want to keep. But, it is not time stretched. It's the original audio file, just shortened. That's what I'm not getting. Again, when I play the sample within M5, it is time shifted. Page 140 mentions modifying sample data and saving destructively. I must be doing something wrong. And thanks for your replies. Got one more?MIDI Life Crisis wrote:I'm saying you can isolate the section of the sound you want tobuse and delete everything else. "save sample" save the original sample.
for saving the result, bounce in your host.
Simple as that.

Ok, I was barking up the wrong tree. I see now, thanks to you both. Much appreciated.hugy wrote:for saving the result, bounce in your host.
