What about Mach5 2.0 ?

Post by alexandre »

I want to buy Mach5 but as I read on the Web that the version 2 was announced last january, I thought that it woould be published very soon now. I don't want to buy now a version that would be upgraded later with payment. So you know anything? thanks

MOTU has stated that if you buy the current version, you'll get the next version for free.

I can't wait for V2!!!!! :)

Yeah, I'll wait it out until Mach Five 2 hits street -- I like the sampler that much -- but this new version's definitely been looming in vaporware space for a long time. This MF (pun intended) better be all kinds of bug-free.

I think we're looking probably at a release at the end of this year - judging by some fairly recent correspondance I had with MOTU on the subject.

Mind you, the answers they gave me were very, very, very vaque so who knows!?

I have had to switched to Kontakt 2 in the meanwhile which is a smarter, friendlier, more powerful and just plain better designed sampler than Mach 5 IMHO.

I too am interestef to see what improvements M5 v2 will bring, but only because I'm entitled to the free upgrade.

Problem in Freezing tracks

Post by djphukan »

:? I'm Finding problem while freezing M5(v1.2) tracks on DP4.6,some of the fxs like tremelo changes to a different setting while freezing.I tried with a suitcase EP,with a tremelo fx editing the freq to 1/16T,freezed it,surprised the frozen track sounded like with a 1/8 tremelo!I checked the fx,freq was changed to 1/8.even if u change the output of M5 the fx setting changes automatically. Is anybody experiencing the same?Is there any solution?

Does it matter when we purchased MachFive V.1 to get the free upgrade to MachFive V.2? I bought V.1 pretty soon after it came out (maybe a year and a half ago). Just wondering if V.2 upgrade was going to be free only to those who purchased V.1 after a certain date.

Thanks

Yes, I think it is only after a cetain date - probably the date when they announced Mach5 v2 - but I'm not sure when that was exactly.

You could always ask Motu for confirmation on this - that's what I did when I was thinking of buying Mach5 v1 last spring (ie 2005)

yeah, I'm getting really impatient here. They could at least give us a LITTLE info about the new versions release date.

I'm about to just throw in my cards and go for Kontakt 2.

And my M5 runs really horribly under Tiger/Logic P7. Slow, the buttons, knobs have horrible response when I click on them with my mouse.

I love the interface, and Id be looking forward to all the new features in v2... but I just can't wait...

Yeah, this subject is revisited again. According to the MOTU Page mentioned earlier, free upgrades are given to purchases after Jan 20, 2005 (Which does not include me, of course) Historically, MOTU has not been forth coming about major product updates like this. (ex: DP4) I'm really hoping to see M5v2 soon as well, since I am really in need of a stand alone version to use for live performance. Using a host application just doesn't work out the same, and uses more processor time. Also, for the same reason, it would be nice to have unlimited layers for switching, etc... With the intro of MSi, this would really open doors to possibilities.

I suspect MOTU will not make an announcement until they are real close (following their policy of preferring to not give any information, instead of false information on releases). Looking at this likely approach, I would guess that seeing M5v2 by the end of 2005 is optimistic. When is the next industry trade show? We might be able to have some light shone upon us at that time.
Sounding Off,
