I think it's important to see as well that there are successes other than short term financial ones. The original Mac (which would most definitely not have happened without Steve Jobs) is still around in a very recognisable form today both in OSX and in Windows. Objective-C is the language that underpins iOS and OSX development and it, along with its support libraries, was taken intact from the NextStep OS. Sometimes seeds take time to germinate and grow but still someone needs to plant them. I think the future will recognise the greatness of Steve Jobs and we are all privileged to have shared some of his time and energies.
