If so, I'd love to hear about it, especially if you are using it as a digital mixer / interface / control surface, how it integrates with DP using the HUI protocol and, most important, how it sounds. I'm thinking about it: I think it would fit my studio and work flow perfectly... so I'm looking for the worm in the apple.

Okay, maybe there's just some weird miscommunication going on at Tascam: it looked like maybe the console had been discontinued, but now I'm not so sure.
So if ANYBODY here has any experience with these boards in a project studio setting, share your experience, please.

Re: Does any here use a Tascam DM3200/4800 console?
It works fine, I use a DM3200 with DP7, utilizing a G5. I use the Mackie Control via USB from the DM3200 connected to the G5. In audio/MIDI setup, you will see an icon for (6) connectors for the DM32
((Just as you would for a MOTU 128 MIDI i/o))
When you see that you select NEW components to add "Mackie Control 1" & "Mackie Control (something else)" dont remember right now. Once these are connected the board goes "shick shick" (faders move in accordance to however the faders are in your track) ha ha ha it scared me at first.
Other than that, I have it connected to my Motu 2408 MKII via TDIF, didnt care to use my FIREWIRE just yet. Routing was a easy (I'm coming from a DM24) so let me watch that. However after you understand one, you understand them all.
Pretty much it's cool to work with, I love it, and I'm happy.

BLISS, thanks for the affirmation! I'm pretty well sold on the unit, so it's good to hear from a fellow MOTU user.

BLISS, et al: I went for it. The DM3200 is arriving today. Too much work in the shop swap it in now, but soon.
