I'd like to work with controllers on this Edirol PCR 300 MIDI keyboard in DP 7. Does anybody know, how to map these physical sliders, knobs and buttons to the virtual knobs in the DAW? At least I'd like to map single slider/knob at one time to one strip to record the automatization. But to map these to virtual instruments (Sample Tank, Kontakt Player...) loaded in DP would be great... I'm little tired of trackpad
The PCR-300 is pretty simple to integrate with DP. Just assign a CC No. to a fader, knob, whatever on the Edirol and make sure the corresponding CC No. will control the function you require with DP - start, stop, record etc. You can also assigning faders and knobs in the DP mixer etc.
The PCR-300 allows for 9, maybe more, of these control maps to be stored, which you could assign to various VI's. Some VI's have a set controller No., others you can assign.
I think there was an online resource for Edirol manuals through the Roland site, in case you picked it up secondhand. You would need to refer to your DP manual to find out how to set the CC No. and/or arm the DP function to receive your PCR-300 controller. It's straightforward enough though look out for conflicts with multiple assigns and keep an eye on which MIDI track you have armed in DP as you can end up changing stuff in a VI, eg., which you hadn't intended.
This might make your life a little easier... it is an editor for the PCR series. Clicking the link will take you the the EULA and download options for Mac.
