DP 3.1 "cannot find installer CD" message

woe is me... I got a new (believe it or not) Digital Performer 3 to use with my G4 and MOTU 2408. cool... almost. I also got OS9.2 and I can alternate between OS... when I install something requiring OS9 it automatically goes to classic mode. I was able to install a lot of the things from the CD but when I tried to install DP 3 I get a message saying "Cannot find installer CD".. what's that all about?

Is it the original MOTU CD you are using? Do you have the key code (back of the manual).

Yes, this is the original... I installed other items from the same CD, following instructions from the CD.. so I don't understand.. I do have the code key, this DP3 came new, right out of the box

The CD must be inserted when you authorize DP. You can't install, remove the CD and then run DP. The first time that is...
