I'm not sure if Shane was asking me about Firewire 410 latency, but I'll respond anyway: I have had no problems with latency, whether recording audio or MIDI. Also, just to be clear, the 410 is not a card, but a completely external device connected by firewire, unlike the Delta 44 or 66, which use an internal card and a breakout box.

happy with MOTU 'Traveler'

Post by artfarm1 »

I'm really pleased witht the MOTU 'Traveler'. Always works, quiet, great sound through balanced inputs, and the built-in Preamp is really fine. No complaints for the money. It's perfect for us who don't record huge numbers of musicians at a time. Great for the home studio. Plus, you could get the new ADAT adaptor made by I forget who if you need more inputs for things. Traveler's a very cool machine for the money.

Get it.....get it over with....be happy and get to work!

thanks for the response... i must be doing something wrong then... i have been using my audiophile on a pc running sonar 3 prior to the "switch" and now i get a serious real-time delay between the words coming out of my mouth and what i hear follow from the monitors... i also do not have a "direct-monitor" option within my preferences...

I use an RME Hammerfall DSP card. If you only need a few ins and outs it's excellent value for the quality and works great alongside DP
