7.24 & Lion Non Start

Hello Folks,

This is the incident I opened that Motu has not replied to yet:

DP 7.24 takes a long time to start and then gives Unknown Error. It appears to open but leaves the splash screen in the middle of the desktop. It lets me click on menus but when choosing Open, it does not give me a file selection window.

I did delete prefs and repaired permissions.

Any ideas? BTW, the computer is a MacBookPro6,1 17" with 8bg ram. I believe Apple calls these Mid 2010's, even though they were released in the spring. Pro Tools 9.05 seems to run fine as does Adobe CS5.5 Premium, FCS3, and FCPX.

Could be a plugin? Try removing all the Audio Unit plugins to a safe place and try again. If that doesn't work, see if you have any non-MOTU MAS plugins, and try moving those out as well.

Just a thought.... I managed to get DP 7.24 to work with my system.

If you migrated/updated with 7.24 already installed, try reinstalling the 7.24 update. I had a couple of GUI anomalies when I first migrated and a reinstallation cleared them up.

I should have done the plugin troubleshooting but for some reason I did not think it was that. And it wasn't. It was a MIDI driver. Not sure which one, I just moved everything out of the MIDI Drivers folder.
