SImple tune - LASS and Tonehammer Emotional Piano

Post by cbergm7210 »

Simple baptism song for a client's grandchild. Got to try out my newly purchased TH Emotional Piano (1.0) and LASS LS (violins only).

Beautiful piece, cbergm7210.
I also like the vocalist on the track. A perfect combination for the occasion.

I really love that piano sound. Is it a piano plugin only? I am interested in buying it.

Good work, and thank you for posting

Thanks, Motu Dudes. Adriano, that's the Emotional Piano by Tonehammer; the company is split now but it can be had here:

Was speaking to a certain hobbit about this piano. It's a little bit of a special effects piano and maybe not going for ultra realistic, so it'll work better on some tunes than others. I wanted something different for this song so for me it fit the bill on this one.

So refreshing to hear programmed strings both sound real and be emotionally moving. They need to use this as a demo!! Great work...

LOL ooops! (Man, it's hell getting old)

I ** cough ** forgot to mention that one of the reasons I posted this was because for the first time in my 20 year producing career (38 on the violin) I layered myself on violin and viola and a cello player on top of LASS. (I also posted the song on the LASS forum in a thread about layering live strings with LASS, but forgot to mention that fact here! More brain food needed...)

But, yea, ADood, until I saw that LASS thread I never really gave it much thought. On this tune I wanted it to be about the strings and it was an easy arrangement, so I went ahead and did it. I think I'll do it more in the future!

This is the secret for sure. Every time it's been done on one of my arrangements it immediately comes to life with the added warmth and size of the programmed material...

As a player and producer it was interesting for me personally to do it, and it was very nice to be able to add another tool to my arsenal. It was almost easier in the fact that I programmed the VI to match my live playing which means I didn't have to tweak the VI's tracks as much.
