DP4.6 + Yamaha S90 USB/mLAN direct connect w/o MIDI intface?
I have a Mac to dedicate for sequencung with an S90 and NI Komplete. How do I get DP 4.6 to recognize the S90 input via USB or mLAN without a dedicated MIDI interface? I wanted the simplest possible setup for convenience: One computer (using the Macs audio outputs), 2 powered speakers (Mackie HR824s), and the SA 90 keyboard.
Thanks
Frank

Use a USB connection between your S90 and mac. Then in the Audio/MIDI configuration you'll see that you're S90 shows up as an interface with 8 connections or so, and it shows up as an instrument. I have only one of the about 8 connected to the instrument. I'm not sure if 10.4 has the S90 installed, otherwise you'll be able to download it from Yamaha.
Now in DP automatically the S90 shows up, with all the presets and patches!
Good luck!
Don't hesitate to ask for more. I'm not at the studio at the moment. so I'm trying to remember, but always can have a look in the studio, if you can't find it out.
