Trailer from my film Red Ice

Hi All,

I meant to post this last month. I just finished the score (close to 70 minutes!) for an independent supernatural-horror thriller called Red Ice. We were accepted and screen a couple of times last month at SF IndieFest's Another Hole In the Head Festival (June 2011) and the DVD will be coming out via Amazon. What happens from here is up in the air: more festivals, etc. Honestly I have no idea. I will certainly post when the actual film is released.

It was an interesting project combining my background as a concert composer, who used to do jazz and rock, so there's some rather European avant-garde sections, but then some Latin music, a lot of flute - classical and contemporary (the lead character, believe it or not, plays the flute! How fun is that?), and... some heavy metal music. I worked with Kaos a local band, in addition to other local Bay area musicians. Some elements were recorded at the Annex in Menlo Park, and it was mixed by Jay Shilliday at SlateRun Productions in Oakland. Of course, the score was composed and mostly performed-realized in DP! I'd love to hear what you guys think. Meanwhile, here's the link for the trailer (although as you can imagine the trailer gives you a "heightened" taste of some of the style, but doesn't actually include music from the film score itself). I dunno... maybe I should post some excerpts from the score? Please write comments on the Facebook or YouTube pages (a few more FB likes would be good!).

I pushed send too soon. Just to clarify: I don't currently have a website that I can post streaming audio files and I don't have YouTube-ish video excerpts either. I'm not sure the director would like that anyway (copyright)! Curious how people are dealing with that.
