4.61 waveform redraw problem

Post by rumble »

i recently picked up a zoom r24 to record live tracks then dump into dp.

normally there are about 6-7 tracks of wav files at 24bit 48k which takes a few minutes to get into dp via usb.

the track files are pretty large because i record the whole live show and edit them later into individual songs.

i've got a problem with the waveform re-draws in dp taking way too long.

i have "wait until dsp is needed" off, and i thought it was just the large length of the file (6 or 7 three hour long tracks).

i just tried cutting it up into 45 minute sets of songs to make the project file smaller, but what's happening now is any resizing of the sequence window starts a waveform redraw of some or all of the tracks, but as soon as one track redraws, 2 others will become greyed out and it seems to be in an endless cycle of doing track waveform redraws.

is there some way to make it stop redrawing the track waveform?

thanks

Solution: DP 7.23 if not DP 5.13.

thanks

what are the "preferred" / stable versions of dp (up to the current version) that would work with my machine & tiger (or even 10.5.8)?

.

7.21 or 7.22. They ROCK!
4.61 and 5.13 were pretty solid too. But you should REALLY upgrade to 7.x and Leopard, or Snow Leopard (if your computer allows it).

7.23 is still too early to tell. There are a few threads around about it.

Well, I had said that about 7.23 as well but I think it's a pretty good bet it's gonna be just fine.

Hey, the gangs all here now! :)

Yes, but 6 was pretty weak (at least in comparison). Forget about it.
DP7 is regarded as the best version ever around here 8)

No, that would be DP 6 with a mod. DP 6 was white as a polar bear.

Or maybe this:
