MOTU Traveler mk3 And Windows 7 64bit

Post by rwfresh »

Hi All,

I just bought a MOTU Traveler mk3 and i've been trying to get it going on a quad core running windows 7 64 bit. It's plugged into a Vantec PCIe Firewire 800/400 card with Texas instrument chipset.

The device is running the 1.7 firmware, came like that as i believe someone had bought the card and updated it.

I've downloaded the 2011/03/16 drivers and i am able to open the MOTU Audio Console but any attempt to use the device, ie: CueMix FX or open Ableton causes the computer to completely freeze. No blue screen just freeze. I've also attempted to reflash but the flash program does not see the device (and the device has been put into flash mode by holding the cursor and powering up).

Powering down and powering up the device does cause windows to recognize it and show the drivers were "successfully installed" but the complete lockup/freeze still happens when attempting to use it.

I've seen a bunch of threads with complaints.. am i wasting my time trying to get this to work with Windows 7 64 bit?

it seems that your firmware is not correct, 'cause 1.7 firmware doesn't exist for Traveler MK3, only for the old Traveler. The latest firmware for MK3 is 1.2 for now, check it on download page
