Dp 7.22 and Dark Mod

Post by umbachk1 »

Hello All,

I just recently upgraded from DP 6.03 to 7.22 I can not seem to find a Dark Mod version that works with this version of DP. I sent a message to iperformer but have not heard back. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

My memory on this may be incorrect, but it seems like iPerformer stopped supporting mods (themes) because of pressures of family life which were making it hard to keep up the work -- for which he received practically nothing in payment. A sad close to the story of one of the originators of this feature.

You might also consider AmpGUI themes:

These are gorgeous themes -- better than MOTU's in my opinion -- and there are a lot to choose from. I use Oxidized and Sleek quite a lot, but I have them all. The darker themes in this collection include Dark, Sharp, Sleek, Night, Mellow, Overcast, and Oxidized. There are also some strong color themes including Gold, Jade, Aquarius (blue), and Oxidized (dark reddish rust). Care has been taken to make details show up against dark backgrounds. I highly recommend these if you are unable to locate updates to iPerformer's mods. They really have to be seen on your own monitor to fully appreciate them.

By the way, it was largely AmpGUI's collection that started the landslide of support for themes that resulted in MOTU's adopting them officially. This is a case where a user's work added so much to DP and brought many converts from other DAWs, to the point where MOTU was excited to make it official. I'm an advocate, in case you hadn't noticed! ;)

PS: Here is the thread that documents one of the great tales in DP history:

It's 92 pages long. How many other features have generated that much response, nearly 100% positive?
