Original 896 firewire + windows 7 + Sonar 8.5 producer??

Hello, I'm new to the forum.

I'm sure this post is quite redundant, but after using the search feature and not finding much I thought I'd post about it. I have the original Motu 896 firewire and have been using it happily for nearly 10 years on windows 2000 and window xp pro. Last time I installed XP I discovered that the firewire drivers on Motu's site no longer support this interface, but only the HD version.

I am likely to move to windows 7 soon and would like to know how hosed I am. Has anyone gotten an 896 firewire to work in windows 7?? It is pretty crappy to have to replace a 1000$+ piece of hardware in perfect working order because of a driver issue.

The current version of the driver is working fine for me with an 896 in Windows 7.

Thanks! That's great to hear as for a while at least the driver for xp wasn't working with the original 896 firewire, only the 896hd.
