Well there's always a *chan, but talk about pointless.
Re: Audio Express - One person's experience
THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT TOPIC
Please do not get off topic with pages of talking about vulgar language. THIS AUDIO UNIT ALMOST BLEW MY STEREO MONITORS.
THERE ARE MAJOR BUGS WITH THIS UNIT.
For example: Selecting a different source for your headphones output results in your main output level going to MAXIMUM!!!!
The original poster is not crazy for expecting this unit to control the volume coming from the computer. THAT IS WHAT A USB AUDIO INTERFACE IS SUPPOSED TO DO. This hardware has major bugs and I would steer EVERYONE away from this product, at least until MOTU comes out with firmware and software updates.
For more information see this post http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtop ... =2&t=46101" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am furious just as you are, and have the exact same problems as you, but let me tell you I've been spending the past three days scouring the net with little to no information to go by. Slow down. We'll fix this mess, and have MOTU see just how absurd we think this is.jschunick wrote:THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT TOPIC

Yes, but after page 7 pretty much all has been said. Either return the unit or live with it. Above all, always look on the bright side of life.jschunick wrote:THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT TOPIC

Re: Audio Express - One person's experience
My main wish is for a bigger, better, dedicated master volume control on future MOTU interfaces. I was glad to see that the Audio Express had dedicated hardware mixer knobs.
I run mixerless and my monitors are always plugged into the main outputs of my audio interfaces. When I first installed the UltraLite mk3 and tried to play back audio last year, my Mackie's nearly blew the stucco off the walls. The default volume output was maxed and the volume control had no effect on the audio output. It was a nightmare.
It seems (IMHO) that the mk3 units with DSP seem to have some weird glitch issues, I sold the Ultralite mk3 and got a Traveler mk3 and have had some weird audio issues (like the trim controls having no effect) and have I've had to do several factory resets.
An easy(ier) way to control the master audio level input from the computer would be nice too.
