Can you make DP Pitch Correction sound like Autotune?

Post by jflandau »

Normally, I'd be the last one to try to make DP's very nice-sounding Pitch Correction sound like Autotune-by-the-batch, but I'm working on a comedy track that depends upon the effect.

Anybody succeeded in over-tuning Pitch Correction in that special Autotune stylee?

Still in DP 6.03-- the DP 7 disk is sitting on my desk-- somebody burgled my house and got away with my Mac Pro. Still waiting on the insurance to pay off, 3 1/2 months later... and in the meantime, I'm back on a G5!

Thanks!

Besides quantizing pitch, Scaling Pitch Expression to a very low percentage might help.

Yes, I tried quantizing first and this sort of cleaned it up, made it slightly more mechanical-sounding. Scaling to 0% was just a mess, but I'll try 5% and down and see how that does.

I seem to recall someone posting a Youtube video a while back on the subject. I think it was "Using DP for T-Pain Effect" or something similar. I'd try doing a search on T-Pain and see what you get.

i've done it, use the pencil tool and set it for straight line drawing, also remember you can play MIDI from a keyboard and paste it into the pitch window. :vomit: :mumble:

I've done this in a pinch and it worked just fine.

Also remember the option key-dragging up and down on the pitch line trick. Expands or contracts the pitch width.
