Assigning Multiple Inputs at once???
Hey fellow DPers!
I own a Motu 8 Pre and when I create new tracks for the 8 inputs I always have to manually choose the inputs(ex: track 1 > Analog 1; track 2 > Anolog 2, up to 8 ). It's soooo booooring!
I've tried the 'Audio assignment' function for applying consecutive inputs but can't get it to work. I can get the outputs to work in the 'audio assignments' but not the consecutive inputs function.
Is their another way around this? Or am I doing something wrong?
thanks
Cheers

What happens when you try to do consecutive inputs in the Audio Assignments dialogue? Does it just do nothing?

Re: Assigning Multiple Inputs at once???
Make a template with the inputs as you think you'll use them, then when you start a new project work off the template.
Creativity, some digital stuff and analogue things that go boom. crackle, bits of wood with strings on them that go twang
Re: Assigning Multiple Inputs at once???
Did you check the bundles window to see if those inputs are in fact consecutive? Also have you tried rebuilding bundles? I'm just thinking out loud here. The times audio assignments hasn't worked for me, it's been a bundles issue.Tesionman wrote:I've tried the 'Audio assignment' function for applying consecutive inputs but can't get it to work. Re: Assigning Multiple Inputs at once???
Thanks for the replies guys!
I think I know why it happens. When I create a new project and create the 8 tracks, only analog 1 and 2 appear in the audio assignments inputs. After I manually insert the 8 inputs in the tracks they all appear in the audio assignments after that. Just have to put them manually first which kinda sucks.
Even if I create a template with everything nicely routed, when I create another new project from that template, all the tracks appear with analog 1 and I have to manually put them again.
The thing is, I change interfaces with the same projects(one at home and another in my rehearsal space), so the input changes automatically but I've tested this only with my 8Pre and it doesn't memorize the inputs when creating a new project(even with a configured template).
cheers

Re: Assigning Multiple Inputs at once???
hmmm, I've a template saved that has all the inputs and outputs correctly assigned, the levels set, and the tracks are armed for record... Analog and ADAT inputs, analog and SPDIF outsTesionman wrote:Thanks for the replies guys!

have you tried building a new template?
