AudioMidi no-brainer: Miroslav Philharmonik CE for just $15!

I'm in. I even have a couple of "lite" versions of Miroslav, but it's worth $15 to get the choirs and to fill in anything my lite versions are missing. They're "extremely" lite. One came with my Kurzweil and was on a CD that I had to transfer via MachFive, and the other came with something -- maybe Mach Five? I don't remember.

Anyway, even though I probably won't use it much, if I use it even one time it pays for itself.

I remember getting the full version free a couple of years back . They had an insane deal, like a buy one get one free.

It's a cool plug, some great sounds, but it keeps asking me to authorize everytime I open it, even though I already have.

So I just hit "cancel", and it works fine.

And audiomidi doesn't charge tax for purchases in NY. Don't know about anywhere else

anyone (else) having trouble getting AudioMidi to issue a registration number/email (needed to get the download from IKMultimedia)? I did the payment about 4 hours ago, got an email from AM saying wait for an email with Reg. number, but have heard no more....

HELP. having problems installing with the IK Authorization Manager.
I installed SampleTank and during installation the Authorization installer says I need to update to the newer version of the Authorization Manager (version 1.0.3.)
OK I do that with the clickable link they put in front of my eyes... click.. log in, bla bla..

Did as they told me to do.. but after installing the upgrade APP won´t open. Here I am. I just bought the No Brainer Deal.. still waiting for the serialnumber and have a disfunctional Sampletank FREE to play the VI I just bought.

The problem is that I have a serial number for SampleTank FREE in my IK account but can´t open the Authorization APP... :/
Anyone?
All should work well on OSX 10.4.11 (as read on the IK homepage)

hey RG, I also did the SampleTankFREE last week and also had some problems with the Auth. app. I'll have to go back and see how I worked it out, but...

just noted this from the (only) AudioMedia email that I did get this a.m. " Generally, you should receive the serial within 24 hours, however the delay could be longer due to weekends and time differences." So we may both be stuck until Monday....

Download and authorization of these IK products is a complicated mess but, once you get it right, the products do work. I am impressed. The Bassoon 1 sound is worth the $15 for Miroslav Philharmonik Classik.

Hopefully, this will save a little time:

You do need to download 1.0.3 of the Authorization Manager. Here's a download link
http://www.ikmultimedia.com/authorizationmanager" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but you can also download it from the old AM. If you download it first, you avoid the loop of Sampletank pulling up the old one.

Sampletank has its own serial number that must be authorized separately in AM 1.0.3. I had to do some clicking from the download pages but I eventually found it and, once installed, it works nicely.

Authorization Manager 1.0.3, unlike the older versions, can handle all of your serial numbers at once. If you have an old app that is not authorized in 1.0.3, it will launch the old AM. Once Sampletank, for example, is authorized in AM 1.0.3, it no longer pulls up the old AM that tells you to download 1.0.3. AnthonyS, I am guessing that getting 1.0.3 and loading your free serial# into it will make the pop-up go away.


Even though the web site promises to charge California sales tax, I wasn't charged either.

Unfortunately I can´t manage to authorize Sample Tank FREE..
I did as you suggested, tried many times and did the download/install/ wanting to authorize etc.. repaired permissions..
The Authorization Manager update doesn´t seem to work with Sampletank 2.5 as I get this update notification all the time regardles the installated update of the Authorization Manager.
When trying opening the AM 1.0.3. from the app folder it isn´t opening att all.

I give up SampleTank. It already took me to many hours of my life.

Hope IK M tech support can help me out. I did send them an email yesterday..

nevertheless I´m glad (the payed for) Miroslav is working..

Wow that's awful. When I got the Miroslav, I saw that there was the free SampleTank up there for me.. I thought to myself "Hmmm, better not complicate things, maybe I come back and get that later." Good thing I listened to that little inner voice!

Sorry you went through all that RG, but thanks for the heads up- I'll avoid that one like the plague!

a really, really complicated mess!! As for the Miroslav player it is, as RG has noted here, a PITA to get installed and authorized. And, once you've finally got it (the player) installed an authorized, it'll open (standalone), but no sounds!

That's because, in addition to downloading and installing the player, you've got to separately go to your "user area" and download all of the Orchestra sounds. I guess I should've been suspicious that the original download was only 11.5Mb. That, of course, was the player only. Anyway, once you've got the sounds - they come in two parts - downloaded, you can click the installer and install on to your library drive. Then you can open the standalone player and load some orch stuff, right? wrong...

Turns out you've only installed the "package receipts" for the orch sounds....not the actual sounds themselves. So you go back and copy the file sounds in to your library drive. And *now* you're ready to play, right? wrong...

You've got to open the Player, go to Prefs and set the "Root" for the folder that you've put all of the orch samples in to. And now? YEESSSSS!!. You can open the orch stuff in the player. Point here is, there's *NO* documentation re: the above, you just have to figure it out as you go. And, btw, there's no user info for the player itself, though it's pretty easy to figure out.

So now, you've actually got it playing...

I said I wanted to "times 10" Mike's comments....make that "times 100". These are *beautiful* samples! All I've done so far is just noodle with the standalone, but things like the Woodwinds are coming out as good or better than my Westgate winds. Lovely brass and "usable" strings. Obviously, you won't get a huge variety of articulations with a package this size, but it's just ridiculous how good this stuff is for $15.

I would encourage *ALL* to have a go at the (multitudinous) hoops necessary to get this up and running....the sounds are worth it!

I had some trouble getting it all square. My IK Multimedia password stopped getting me in halfway through the sound library DL. Contacted IKM and they responded the next day with the right advice. I like that customer support and the sounds are sweet. Hope it works out for you.

I went for this no brainer as well. Finally got it up and running . There's definitely some usable stuff there though a little limited from the full version but will still fill in nicely with some of my other orchestral libs.
One thing though I didn't seem to find was a user manual installed anywhere . The only one I found was only the installation pdf. Is there a manual ? I couldn't seem to find one on the IK site unless I missed it somewhere.

Well never mind, I did some poking around in IK's user forum and found the manuals here on the install in case anyone else was looking.
