I am thinking of upgrading my keyboard setup. I currently have an Alesis QS 8, Korg Karma and an Oxegen 8. I rarely use the Karma for anything and use the QS 8 as my "controller" but do not use many of the sounds. I am running DP 4.6 with Mach 5, MSI, Atmosphere, Stylus RMX, Kontakt, Reason, Guitar Rig and a few other plugs/VI's. What would be the best keyboard to complement this setup?
I want the ability to zone/split the keyboard easily and assign each to different channels. I can do this in the Alesis but it is a bit of a pain. It has been a while since I looked at new equpment so I am a bit out of touch with what is out there.
Thanks for any help you all can offer.

Check out M-Audio for their controllers. I use the 88es, but it doesn't allow programming. They gave a higer end unit for around $700 I think.
A used Kurzwweil PC88 might also be a good choice and they have some great sounds.
No sounds on the M-Audio.

That's the one I think he should look at. With a PC88, PC2 and a V-Synth on the racks, I needed something for my desktop to enter notation and some MIDI data. The Pro-88 is by far the superior keyboard, but was to heacy and wide for my desktop. The es88 is perfect!scooter wrote:I'm using the M-Audio Pro-88. It's inexpensive and comes with a lot of MIDI CC sliders and knobs. No sounds of its own.
But for future reference, how do you like the performance on the pro version?
TIA.
