AudioMidi no-brainer: Miroslav Philharmonik CE for just $15!

It's the compact edition, but even so, that comes with a bunch of wind-controller-friendly patches.

I owned the full edition for awhile, until I fleshed out more of my VSL collection. I was even hesitant in selling due to the wind controller patches (VSL is very WC-unfriendly, but VI PRO might be customizable in that regard). At the time, I needed disc space and so parted with my copy.

Miroslav has done an updated edition for around $1000 or so in the past year or two, but this older edition has extremely good choir patches (if those are in the Compact Edition -- see the IK website to make sure) and also the unique "Horn Vibrato" that is specific to Eastern European playing styles (Horns are played without vibrato in most of the west).

For fifteen bucks, it might be worth it. Does anyone know if these are 24-bit or 16-bit samples?

Dunno... but at $15 that one really was a "no-brainer." I'm in. :)

Yeah, I'm almost "back" in at that price. :-)

They have an undisclosed future gift/upgrade offer as well. Not sure if it will be for full edition, the new Miroslav collection, or something else. Obviously, they aren't allowed to say. :-)

I think it's 16-bits but didn't see that information; it's from memory.

Here's the direct link to the deal:

I'm going to take a wild guess that the "super-secret special" for no-brainer Miroslav buyers is related to the Notion notation package:

Here are the most complete specs I could find:

http://www.ikmultimedia.com/philharmonik/specs/

No mention of bit depth, and no sign of the old comparison charts for the editions.

It can be said that $15 is worth it for the choirs alone -- even in restricted subset. These are very warm vocal samples, and were my preferred vocal library until VSL Choirs finally came out (WAY more expensive!). They also have some dark vocal patches as well. Very organic.

Not sure, but depending on the context of what you do with them, methinks 16-bit versus 24-bit is a non-issue in most cases. If someone can tell my brass samples in the context of a pop song are 16bit and not 24bit, I'll eat this guy's hat --> :arrrr:

If there'ds just one useful sound, it's worth $15 (+tax in California). Yea, I gotta do this.

I dunno, but the audiomidi site didn't charge me tax that I can recall.

I've had the full version for several years and it has always been DP-friendly.
mhschmieder wrote:I think it's 16-bits but didn't see that information
Samples are at 16-bit, but it runs in 24-bit just fine with a slightly larger hit to the CPU, which didn't seem to be much at all.
