Don't worry about naming names, Mark; you can still name people.

This is good to hear; it'll help me appreciate his books. I'm reading several of them (possibly all) along with Izhaki's mixing and BK's mastering at the moment (as you do, but how I wish I hadn't devoured the start of each upon its arrival; assimilation would surely have been of a more Borg-like standard had I stuck to one script at a time - it's already become a mish-mash of info and I can see myself starting them again).

Great to know Bobby's got that "natural teacher" thing going. Enjoy the next session, Mark, and thank you as always for the updates.

I wasn't able to make it to today's mid-day session with Bobby Owsinski, as I was too busy being an AVnu Alliance evangelist (AVB standard & protocol for audio/video across Ethernet), with several major audio vendors (I'll be posting about that later, once I decide whether it belong under Off-Topic or Recording).

As it turns out though, most of what he talked about yesterday and today is in yet another brand-new book from him called "Music 3.0", from Hal Leonard publishing.

"Recording" should be fine, I'd have thought... in fact, I do think this currently even though I might have thought it had I thought... never mind.

Dang. Another book. I'll have to order it. Thank you for the heads-up, Mark. Sorry you missed that second session. Sounds like it'll all be in ze buke though. Yay! :D

I keep hoping to read the T-RackS book while commuting on BART, but work-related readings have been occupying my time since AES...

I plan to order "Music 3.0" in a week or so, once I am less swamped and can go through my notes to put together an overall order that qualifies for free shipping.

I read this book during my BART commute last week, and can honestly say it is the best written and clearest tutorial on mixing and mastering that I have ever read.

Bobby is very succint and knows how to get core concepts across in a way that they can be easily reviewed later. I learned a lot reading this book, and it will be on my desk constantly during my upcoming mixing sessions.

This book is equally useful to plug-ins other than T-RackS. You could say that Bobby uses T-RackS to visualize his concepts, but they are general and not specific to these plugs. As the plugs have great interfaces they serve as excellent learning aids to basic mixing techniques.

I am probably going to sell all my older books now on Home Recording and Mixing. This book has way more Mojo going, and is written at a much more professional level with much more perspective and a broader context of musical styles and project needs.

EVERYONE needs this book. I recommend this as the most important book to have at your desk next to the DP manual.
