Win7 896 HD, ASIO and AUDIO WAVE

Post by marcosdipaolo »

this is the 3rd time i try to post......
Finally i'm trying to use my 896HD in Win7.
I'm kinda tired to tell the story so i'll be brief.
Suddlenly I discover that Windows doesn't use ASIO anymore but "Audio Wave", even when i can load ASIO drivers from Sonar, the question is why, did i configure something wrong? this Audio Wave thing doesn't work really well when i listen to music in Windows.
Probably someone can tell me briefly the abc of this new way MOTU is handling this.

Did you run the "MOTU console", and check the box "Wave RT for legacy audio" (or whatever the hell MOTU has relabeled it this week)? If so, don't do that. Don't enable Wave RT for old software. Not only do you hear distortion in the old software, it also messes up new software using Wave RT.
