Motu MIDI Micro-Lite - Lights not working but MIDI sent

I did a quick forum search, forgive me if this question is old data. I recently sold a Micro-lite, in perfect working order when I used it. It was in storage in the original box a couple years.

I recently sold it to somebody who claims the in/out light do not work, and is therefore returning the product for a refund.

Is anyone aware of this issue? I've known Motu hardware to be ultra rugged and never had this problem when i was using it. Any words of advice from the trenches?
