I really have never understood why DP is setup this way. I can see how snapshots are good for "locking" in settings, but all those automation lines should just just exist sans nodes underneath the hood, updating as you manually adjust the volume, pan, etc on the mixer.... and when it comes time to draw in some changes your starting point is already there. I suggested this to MOTU back in 2004 just before I left DP3 but I guess they don't see like I do. and maybe I'm being unreasonable but I think every other sequencer out there works like this, at this point it just seems to me like one of those things like the "piano roll" view... its just how its done. This and the ability to mute individual MIDI notes are two features I'd love to see come along soon in this app...
