Help! Can't set up Vienna Ensemble Pro network with DP

Hello, I am a total noob when it comes to setting up networks. Hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction, I'm sure it's a simple problem.
I just bought a brand new MacMini and put a SSD in it and am trying to use it as a slave running VE Pro connected to my MacPro as the master running DP 7.2.
There is no router involved, it's just these two computers with a crossover ethernet cable. I can set up file sharing, so I know the cable is working, but when I run VE Pro the master can't find the slave in the setup window... Do I need to change the IP addresses or anything? I'm so confused. Please help if you have any ideas :?

Figured it out. For anyone else in the same predicament... if the network wont work, go to System Preferences->Sharing, and turn on internet sharing with whatever ethernet port you are using to connect to your slave computer. Good luck. :D
