I'm attempting to run a HHB Radius50 preamp/compressor into my motu2408.
I a mackie board that I run channels 1-7 in and my preamp is on channel 8.
on the motu 2408 I then run the line outs back into the mackie board.
I can hear all channels 1-7 fine before I record which of course helps to set up the sound, etc.
but I can't hear channel 8. It's showing that it's a very hot level on the motu, but I can't hear it until after I've recorded a track, which isn't conducive to a good recording environment.
I spent all last night attempting to trouble shoot this but I can't come up with anything thus far.
my feeling is it shouldn't have anything to do with the software, so maybe I have a cable issue, but they look to be the same kind of cables so I'm doubtful.
any thoughts or insights would be appreciated thank you

Re: trouble running preamp into motu 2408
So what exactly is feeding Mackie channels 1-7? The 2408's outputs? Or are you using Mackie 1-8 to monitor inputs (used as preamps) and 9-16 to monitor the 2408?
Is the Radius plugged into the Mackie first and then running direct out to the 2408? Or are you going directly to the 2408 from the Radius.
Assuming everything is set up correctly then are you sure your buss assignment on the Mackie channel 8 is set to main mix or whatever you need?
