Traveler Mk3 SMPTE Bug?
I am a long time traveler owner. I decided to get a new Traveler Mk3. Testing it, I can't get it to read SMPTE. It generates fine, but wont read. Audio MIDI doesn't show SMPTE as a clock source. In the SMPTE setup there is no SMPTE / SMPTE setting. This is true on both my G4 laptop and a new mac Min. Firmware is 1.02, could that have lunched SMPTE Sync? OR do I just have a bad Traveler Mk3? Can some other Traveler Mk3 owner confirm if they can read SMPTE?
Thanks
Stephen

I think this has been broken for a while.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.

Re: Traveler Mk3 SMPTE Bug?
OK, it is a "known" driver issue. The real news is 4 to 5 redials in 2 - 3 minutes reached a live tech support person who checked and found the answer with me on the line. Courteous knowledgeable prompt service.
Thank you MOTU.

But Stephen, what was the solution they helped you find? Reinstalling the driver? I'm having exactly the same issue. Thanks!

Re: Traveler Mk3 SMPTE Bug?
Thanks for the reply, Stephen. I'm currently running 10.4.11 and would like a solution that does not involve me switching operating systems. MOTU's downloads page does contain the driver update (Sept. 2010) to which you refer, but recommends running OSX 10.5.8 I've got two TechLink requests in on their support page, but haven't received an answer to even the first request posted over 10 days ago. I haven't been in a position to call them directly during their hours, so was hoping to get a reply within what they say is their standard 2 days.
Thanks again for your quick reply -- maybe you should go to work for MOTU!!

Re: Traveler Mk3 SMPTE Bug?
While they recommend the latest version of the OS I would go ahead and try the new driver with your OS version. It will solve your problem and likely work just fine. If not you can always delete it and revert to your current driver.
