Robot Voice

Post by bdr »

Does anyone know how I would go about editing a childs voice so that a sentence they are saying kind of glitches and breaks between human sound and 'robot' sound, as though they are a robot whose electronics are not working 100%?

Thanks for any help.

A delay with fast time and long feedback can yield some good electronic results

Try ring modulation in addition to the other suggestions. In order to switch between the robot voice and the human voice, try putting each one on a separate track. Then do some creative editing by alternating between the two tracks or crossfading between them.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.

One thing about robot voices is that the simplest ones are monotone. You can set pitch correction to get this effect by locking everything to the same pitch. From there, I would use a parametric eq to boost a resonant peak and roll off those freqs that fall outside your parmeters. This mimics a simple voice generator.
