Among Sonalksis and Waves, I would suggest also another great sounding plug, ValveTone 62 from http://www.tritonedigital.com
I think they have a demo too to evaluate.
Good Luck

Just out of curiosity, what type of music do you produce using Waves?Originally posted by shankyboy:
Here's my 2 cents worth since I own the Powercore PCI. Unless you are going to pinch pennies and buy the Element, I would take my money and buy Waves instead. I bought the Waves Gold package after having my Powercore for about 6 months and I wish I had purchased Waves in the first place. Heck, with the money that I ended up spending on both, I could have bought the Platinum package. In my opinion, the Waves plugins are far superior to the Powercore plugins. Now days, the only plugin I use from my TC suite is the Voice Strip.
Great to hear. I too am looking for a great suite of plugs that are effective in a wide variety of styles. Thanks for the info.Originally posted by shankyboy:

Allan, I produce a myriad of styles. My "money" gigs are typically Rock & Pop bands. Currently, I am working with an original Funk band called Calumet. (www.calumetband.org) I also get a lot of work with Hindu and Comtemporary Classical music. The Hindu & Classical stuff is primarily live 2 track stuff. I am also a Blues musician, so aside from my own stuff, I periodically work with other blues bands as well. (it's quite ironic, though, that my favorite genre provides me the least amount of income)
ditto.Originally posted by shankyboy:

I have the Nomad Factory Blue Tubes bundle and just love it. I use it in as many places as possible. If you want real vintage, you can't go wrong. I've tried every demo out there and have a lot as well, but this bundle blows me away. It rocks PERIOD. It does not sound like waves at all. As far as I'm concerned just as good or better, but different. Very rich etc. You can download their demo.Originally posted by revi:
My question: has anyone tried the Nomad Factory Blue Tubes bundle? It appears to run on DP (though there is conflicting info on their reseller's site). I've heard that their sutff compares sonically quality-wise with WAVES. Free trials and _reasonable_ (roughly $400 for the bundle) prices.[/QB]
