FireWire Warranty

Post by xtrmntr »

Hi all,

I searched the forum previous to asking this but came up blank. What would seem to be information that is/should be fairly simple to find out has proven difficult.

Some websites list FireWire units as having a 2 year warranty. Others say 90 days. In the manual for the 8pre it lists the warranty as being 90 days, but when I called MOTU they said 90 days at first, then paused and corrected themselves saying that it was indeed two years.

Does anyone have any actual first-hand having-dealt-with-tech-support info on what length the warranty actually is?

Would really appreciate knowing this. Thanks a lot!

I hate to bump my own thread, but I would really appreciate any thoughts on this matter. I am almost completely positive that everyone on this forum who has ever bought a new piece of MOTU gear has registered for the warranty.

I will try calling MOTU early Monday morning and will post their response here afterwards.

Thanks.

Hi,

Just spoke with a very nice lady at MOTU customer service. I'm sure you all ready know this, but she confirmed that USB/Firewire devices are under a two year warranty.

Thanks. Hope this helps anyone who might be searching for the same info as I was. :)
