WEIRD BEHAVIOR OF DP 7.22

Post by yiagoulas »

Hi guys,
I have a brand new mac 12 core 2.66 with 15gb memory.
I have DP 7.22 and the 2408 Pcie with the MK II hardware.

I thought by having such a powerful computer, will not have issues like the following.

I am having a Project open with 10 MIDI tracks. 9 are for Kontakt 4 and 1 for EW-Play. Also 3-4 audio tracks. Very small project as you can see.
When I playback the MIDI and i press the arrows up or down in order to move the record enable button -red- the MIDI will stop for a second and then carry on...like freezing for a short moment...That is happening especially when I am record enabling audio tracks or the MIDI channel that corresponds to PLAY.

In another project, I would have only audio channels around 20 but most of them disabled or bussed to disabled outpouts and I will press play to hear one of them, then the "Playback bar" (in audio performance under CPU) will fill up and I will get the message that the audio is overloaded
how is that possible? CPU still though at minimum.
Do you think there is a problem with the audio card? or something is buggy?

Please let me know because I upgraded to a very fast machine and this kind of problems seem to me unreasonable.

Thanks a lot

When you record-enable a MIDI track whose output is transmitting to an instrument plug-in, that instrument plug-in must switch from the pre-rendering mode to the realtime mode. That would certainly cause the plug-in's audio output to be momentarily interrupted. Either set the plug-in instance to run in realtime in the Effect window mini-menu or open the plug-in window. (Plug-ins are forced into realtime mode whenever their windows are open.)
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.
