Where to find drivers and manuals for older 896hd ?

Hi,
I have purchased a motu 896 hd FW /without manual and no cd with drivers and have tried going to offcial motu site to try and locate drivers and manuals,but to no avail..

Anyone know where I can find these? I take it this product is legacy now..

The drivers are available on the Downloads section at motu.com.... you will need to register to get at that page. The latest version for Firewire/USB, 1.4.20 quotes the following:

MOTU Universal Audio Install- OSX
This install provides compatibility updates for Mac Intel processors, OS 10.5, and is compatible with OSX versions back to OSX 10.4.x.

Installer contains a driver update for the MOTU 828, 896, 828mk2, 828mk2 USB, 896HD, Traveler, UltraLite, 8pre, 828mk3, 896mk3, UltraLite mk3 and Traveler mk3. Cuemix console supports external control surfaces, talkback & listenback capabilities, and I/O port names. etc

As for manuals, there are none online, but try giving motu a call

Yes, you need to register yourself at MOTU to get downloads.

But, here is a link to the 3.6.7.4 drivers which you won't find at motu, or will they give it to you.

for your unit it's the last one you'll want. Newer ones are a step backwards. (burn to cd for the future)

Be sure to install them first BEFORE you connect the unit.

As far as the manual: They have them for sale in the store at MOTU.com They're 20$, printed. Motu does dot have downloads available.

Motu also recommends a firewire card with a TI or Agere Chipset. Others work but these will be less troublesome.

Get it up and running and come back here with questions.

MOTU does have some PDFs available for all current hardware. Don't know about older stuff. I do know that the manuals are copyrighted material hence asking for an unauthorized one here is not kosher.
