Q for DAE PT/DP Users does PT9 "Break" DP in DAE?

Post by Christopher Drake »

So its finally been announced by MOTU that they are also officially ending DAE support..

Can any of our DAE-DP users here confirm if installing PT9 will "break" DP running as a front end to PT in DAE mode?

Based on comments over on the Avid forums, I'd say that if you install
PT9, all bets are off and just about anything could go wrong.

I'd hold off on installing it for at least two to three months...PT9
is in its infancy and there are already numerous complaints about
incompatibility or problems with non-PT interfaces.

Wasn't DP/DAE (and Logic) snuffed out with the last revision of PT 8?

Avid officially announced that they wouldn't be supporting DAE with other Daw's in PT8, MOTU kept it alive with the past couple of DP updates.. however PT9 may truly be the end of the line.
