clock sync for daisy chained MOTU devices

Post by Eralde »

Hi!

I know, that connecting 2 MOTU devices via firewire can be a pain in the a%se  (in my case it's a 8pre + 896HD).

But if it's all ok and devices are working properly - what should I do to sync their clocks ? Which connector should I use for this purpose?

Will they be a master/slave when daisy-chained (like with ADAT connection)?

Thanks in advance!

Adat sync seems to be the easiest way to
sync multiple motu devices. Set 896 as master
and 8 pre as slave and you should be good to
go. I use similar set up with 828mk3 and 8pre
with good results.
