I was actually in error. I use a Bluetooth number pad for my Macbook and it works beautifully. I also love the DP app on my iPod touch. They say it doesn't work on a 2nd gen iPod but it works fine- no lag time or anything. Beautiful interface although I wouldn't be upset if my wie surprised me with an iPad for Christmas. ;)

Shoeshie the blue tooth Apple key board not having a Number pad kept me from getting it when I got my computer.

Microsoft, Targus, Kensington and Logitech all make wireless numeric keypads. I would suspect that all work on the Mac. $25-40.

The Microsoft is a Bluetooth device, the Kensington uses a USB receiver and comes with a wireless mouse. Both are supposed to be Mac compatible.

As I said, just make sure the numeric keypad keys map correctly. It may not matter on a PC, or for most Mac users, but if you're running DP it will.

I found this post as I am hunting for the number pad for my macbook pro. I did not see this product being mentioned in the post so I thought I will just share it with everyone.

That's a really good looking keypad. Sort of weird, because I use my keypad on the left side of my keyboard... but it still looks good.

This is one I got from Amazon, and it works great with my Mac. Only thing is, the enter key is actually recognized as a return key. Usually doesn't matter... but it trips up DP when you want to locate to a position:

Thanks for this, just ordered it!! Must be new because I was just looking for this a few months ago.

Funny, Apple for some reason did not make an extended wireless keyboard. But whenever they overlook something like that, there's always a company to step in with that product!

I bought the Cropmark keypad a few days ago, but I don't like it and am sending it back. I don't like to bad mouth a product when the problems I have with it might be specific to my system. But for me, controlling DP was not solid at all. There was a slight "coasting" from when I'd hit the zero key to stop the DP transport and when the transport actually stopped. Sometimes a keypad key wouldn't respond at all. I'd keep hitting it and then it would start responding normally.

Also, I found the F16 and F17 keys cannot be mapped in DP. This is not a fault of the Cropmark keypad, however. Mapping my Apple keyboard's F16 and F17 didn't work either in DP. F16 doesn't seem to do anything, and assigning F17 brings up a DP warning that F17 is reserved for special characters. Incidentally, the same warning comes up if you try to map F18 and F19. I don't fault DP about this. I mean the other 15 function keys are enough. It's just that with the Cropmark I wanted to remap Auto record In, Out, and Memory Start, Stop.

I wanted to like the Cropmark, and if it works for others I hope they say so. As I said, maybe it's my setup.

You might try using Quickeys to remap the keys. Quickeys is good at recognizing the raw feed from any input device. Then you can just set up a corresponding key stroke that will work in DP. I did it for my enter key... which was seen as a return key.... which i really wanted to use as an enter key.

Having recently bought a Magic TrackPad, I'm guessing this would be similar in that both keyboards can be active at the same time, and any "race conditions" would just result in the redundant character being thrown out?

It's funny, but it had never occurred to me this would be possible, until the Magic TrackPad surprised me in being active simultaneously with my mouse, for two-handed action -- unless using both devices for the same type of action at the same time.

I'm glad this got brought up. I'll have to see what all is available now for standalone numeric keypads.

Works great in latest OS. Tons of threads on it here on the boards. I personally have so many shortcuts and macros for DP, I had to get an extra set of keys using an X-Keys strip:

Well, I'm happy to report that this thing works perfectly for me! Just got it today. Maybe something was wrong with the one you had B.G.

I'm so glad I found one that is made for the Mac. I just didn't trust the Microsoft, etc. The keys are labeled differently, and like James said, there's that chance that it won't be mapped correctly.

Thanks again for that link!
