MachFive streaming question

Post by sdfalk »

My previous experience with softsamplers was Vsamp and
that was pretty much it.
(Great little sampler though it was.)
My question is probably pretty basic, but does Disk streaming
in MachFive reduce the strain on CPU while increasing the
need for more ram..or what?
Thanks :)

no, it adds to the strain of the cpu while lessening the need for more ram.

because it doesn't load up the sounds (well, only a tiny bit), it means that the computer's working overtime, playing the sounds in realtime off the hard disk. i think that's right, anyway! works a treat, either way...
